The Indirect Procurement Specialist/Manager is responsible for managing the sourcing, contracting, and supplier-management of non-production goods and services that support the operations of the business (rather than materials used directly in manufacturing). This role partners closely with internal stakeholders across functions, drives cost-efficiency and value, ensures compliance and governance, and continuously improves procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect spend categories (e.g., IT services, marketing, travel, facilities, professional services, logistics) in alignment with business objectives.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify requirements, influence demand, and challenge specifications to optimize total cost of ownership and value.

• Conduct supplier market analyses, sourcing activities (RFI/RFP/RFQ), negotiation of terms and contracts, supplier selection and onboarding.

• Manage supplier relationships post-contract award, including performance monitoring, service level agreements (SLAs), risk management, continuous improvement, and cost savings.

• Lead spend analysis, track and report key procurement metrics (e.g., savings delivered, cost avoidance, contract compliance, supplier performance).

• Drive improvements in the procure-to-pay (P2P) process for indirect spend, including process standardization, system implementation or optimisation (ERP/e-procurement tools), and control frameworks.

• Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, legal/regulatory requirements and ethical sourcing standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal, Operations, IT, etc.) to support budget control, forecasting and alignment of procurement activities with business planning.

• Mentor and guide junior procurement staff (if applicable) and act as an ambassador for procurement best practices within the organisation.
