JOB OVERVIEW
• We are seeking exceptional candidates for the Senior Mainframe position (MF COBOL, DB2/IDMS, VSAM, JCL…) where you will play a key role in large-scale Mainframe Modernization projects. You will be involved in programs aimed at transforming Mainframe systems to modern platforms and technologies, helping clients enhance performance and optimize traditional Mainframe applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Research and develop Mainframe Modernization solutions using MF COBOL, DB2/IDMS, VSAM, JCL and modern technologies such as Cloud computing, DevOps, Microservices, and Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Advise and implement Mainframe system transformation solutions to modern platforms, including migration methodologies, design patterns for legacy applications.
• Survey and design system architecture for Mainframe Modernization projects, including integration with modern systems and performance optimization.
• Conduct requirement analysis and design tool application migration and data migration solutions for legacy applications and databases.
• Provide training and technical support for development teams on Mainframe technology and new techniques related to modernizing legacy systems.
• Collaborate with top-tier Mainframe technology experts on large-scale transformation projects worth millions to hundreds of millions of USD.
• Develop and refine methodologies, strategies, and tools to assist in migrating applications and databases from Mainframe to modern systems.

Yêu cầu công việc

• Experienced Mainframe Developer with strong at least 8 years, recent experience in Job Controlling language (JCL) including utility handling and procedure driven jobs;
• Proficient in writing and executing JCL's and debugging application code issues, JCL abends etc in MF COBOL, DB2/IDMS, VSAM, JCL
• Experience with Azure DevOps practices, Git and GitLab for version control in Azure/other cloud platforms.
• Good to have experience with mainframe migration and modernization tools like Micro Focus Enterprise Server/ Enterprise Developer (eclipse based IDE) for COBOL development and debugging
• Experience in data migrations from mainframe to modern databases would be an advantage.
• Experience in replacing DB2 utilities (e.g., DSNUTILB, IKJEFT01-DSNTIAUL) with SQL Server equivalents
• Should be hands-on in performing analysis, drive decisions on mainframe etc.
• Good communication skills in English enable direct interaction with customers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in optimizing and transforming Mainframe systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to advise and lead technical teams.
